AL SMITH, PE, CWP
Founder
Al Smith is a Civil Engineer by training, Water Treatment Operator in practice, and a Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) enthusiast at heart. Al has more than a decade of experience in the Civil Engineering industry, as well as experience working in developing communities on humanitarian WASH projects.

Al received his Bachelor's of Chemical Engineering at the University of South Florida, Tampa; and Master's in Civil Engineering at the University of Colorado, Boulder - Certificate for Engineering in Developing Communities. Additionally, Al is a Licensed Professional Engineer and Level A Certified Water Treatment Operator.

PAUL YOUNG
Principal Owner
Paul comes to Swiftwater Solutions, LLC as a former Project Manager and Program Manager of the State Revolving Fund of Colorado. Beyond Paul's state service, he's been a member of the Army Reserves and the Corp of Engineers for over 14 years as a Certified Instructor.

Paul's formal education is in Environmental Science and Geology with degrees from the University of Denver and University of Colorado. He's currently seeking his Master's in Public Administration.

JOYCE HUANG P.E. CWP
Principal Engineer
Joyce is an Environmental Engineer with a focus on water and wastewater treatment, process optimization, and piping system design. She has worked for large consulting firms, small start-ups, and municipalities before joining Swiftwater Solutions.
Joyce has a MS degree from University of Colorado, Boulder, and a BS degree from University of Florida, Gainesville. She is a licensed Professional Engineer and a Level B Certified Water Treatment Operator and Wastewater Treatment Operator. Joyce also holds licenses for water distribution and wastewater collection system operations.
